Long live our jewellery! We do our best to provide you with tarnish resistant jewellery. So what we ask you to do is avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes and body products.

You also want to be careful with moisture, chemicals, chlorine and salt water. It can really hurt your beautiful piece of jewellery that you have purchased and will tarnish overtime.

Did you know that your body creates oils? Everyone has a different level of perspiration, and this means some body oils are more acidic than others which may cause discolouration or oxidisation to your jewellery.

To help keep your jewellery with lasting beauty, keep your jewellery in the pouch provided and avoid heat and moisture.

 

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELLERY BASED ON THE JEWELLERY TYPE

 

GOLD VERMEIL

Gold vermeil is another common trend for jewellery right now. It is basically sterling silver dipped in gold, in other words electrolysis. The gold vermeil piece usually contains 0.5-1% of solid gold. 

They usually come into a slight lighter colour because the base metal is silver.

For those that are sensitive to nickel, brass or copper then, gold vermeil would be suitable for you. Over time gold vermeil jewellery will turn into a lovely light gold colour. To keep your jewellery lasting, keep it in an airtight box or the pouch the piece came in.

Here are our cleaning tips for gold vermeil jewellery:

  • Place your piece under chemical free water and rub the jewellery gently with soft material such as a soft toothbrush or cotton tip.
  • Dry with a paper towel or cloth.

 

GOLD PLATED

Gold plated is a budget friendly option when purchasing jewellery. This type of jewellery is for those who love changing jewellery frequently. This type of jewellery is processed with a thin layer of gold over base metal.

It is important to know that quality comes with the price tag. Gold plated jewellery are not very durable and will tarnish and fade in colour very quickly.

Here are our cleaning tips for gold plated jewellery:

  • Place your piece in clean soapy chemical free water. Allow the piece to soak for a few minutes.
  • Dry with a paper towel or cloth. Excess rubbing will wear out the piece more.
